That was kind of difficult to read, but I get the gist, I think. What makes you think these guys are going to h4(k you and aren't just typical IMVU drama stirrers? It sounds to me more like your typical IMVU drama more than anything.

yeah maybe so.I have lost accounts before with imvu and i may be overly concerned .One thing that seemed to be a red flag for me was that it was such a huge deal with them both.If someone didn't want to be my friend or unfriended me even, I would just go on about my business.I wouldn't be begging or pitching a fit about it like these 2 guys who made such a huge ordeal about it. also im also including time sense i first posted this issue, but each time i may have been on imvu for hours or maybe only 30 min or so but each time the one guy starts hitting me up asking me to invite him, i will get a random friend request right away from a guy and the profiles are always similar.they are always from UK it says and mention importance of family under interest so it throws up red flags to me .do i seem like i may be concerned when i have no need?.I hope i am wrong.so your feedback is welcome and appreciated.there are more things about the last week that has alarmed me to do with this issue but I can't :tlaponder: of each one until it is happening and then I'm making mental notes to add this to my post .If ya'll could even tell me some tips and pointers of things not to do or to do to try and prevent this sort of thing from happening ,i am all for helping myself.Only I have no idea at all which things concerning this are even a possibility or what to watch out for.I do thank you for your time and or insight on this.Thank you so very much..Graci

damn girl it takes me 15 min to read everything lol my head hurts already

to put it simply your imvu acc cant be stolen unless:

1. you have a keylogger in your pc
2. gave your acc and password to anyone else ( if you did make sure to change email and password)
3. you click some weird looking link that people usualy give you as a means of making credits

It's kind of hard to make sense of your posts when it's such a run on block of text, no offence.

But things to remember in order to keep your account from getting plundered:

  • -Never give anyone your password. ever. For any reason. It doesn't matter if they're staff or your best friend.
  • -Keep the email address you use with your account to yourself. If anyone gets it, and manages to get or crack the password, you're pretty much screwed.
  • -Don't use the same password for everything! I know it's hard to think of a unique password for every account on everything you have, but every day in the news, one site or another is being compromised, passwords, emails, and usernames stolen. So use a unique password for everything! A strong password has upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols, and is reasonably long.
  • -If these people are sketchy to you, don't play their game. Block them, and don't accept new requests from accounts you think are associated with them.

I don't know if you're worried over nothing, and I don't want to invalidate your concerns. But without your password, the average Joe isn't going to take your account. So just follow the above guidelines, and you should be fine.

Edit: Can't words this late in my day.

I understand your concerns and I know how hard it is to lose an account specially if you have spent a lot on that account...as what Harper and Adrian just quoted...try to change your password often and make it a strong/unique password that you can remember....never give those password even to staff or best friends/relatives/boyfriend...Good luck...Enjoy

Steps to be secure:

Have a secure computer (install an anti-virus. I recommend Comodo & Malwarebytyes). However, most anti-virus are useless. They can only detect public malware. If the malware is encrypted then, the anti-virus is useless. So the major tip is not to download things you do not know of.

Have a long password with special characters, numbers, lower case characters and upper case characters. NEVER have the same password for anything. So don't make your IMVU password the same as your facebook password. That's the number 1 way people get h4c|<7d. If once website gets compromised, so can a lot of your other accounts if password is the same.

Also be aware of phishing. This is when people make fake IMVU login screens. So my advice is NEVER EVER login IMVU if the URL isn't https://secure.imvu.com/login/
This is the most secure IMVU login page as it is the HTTPS one.

Just saying but people can't really h4c|< you if you follow these steps. It's much harder to h4c|< someone than you :tlaponder:.
