As you probably know, the IMVU's forum got replaced by :panda9: https://help.imvu.com/apex/IMVUCommunit ... K4jq#/home :panda9:

So what is this? The new forum looks like IMVU mobile/Next style, you can see here the cheerful topic made by IMVU's staff http://www.imvu.com/catalog/modules.php ... p&t=643976

Again and again their missed respect toward creators, what about contests system, requests, free derivations etc?

Well what creators did? An independent forum (yay) PIXEL PUSHER Community :fireworks: http://www.pixelpusher.info/index.php :fireworks:

Just you need to register yourself and supporting.

Can you please provide specifics? So many people complain when IMVU does something but they don't say exactly what they don't like.

So far people say the layout is ugly but I don't see how? Do they not like the colors? Do they not like how things are laid out? What is it that bothers people so much about modern systems?

Since I'm currently working on our forums, it would be good to know what people don't like and want.

I am ok with change. I already don't like Next look, which is what the new format mimics. The new format hinders the ease to find, locate, navigate information in a simple structure. I don't navigate for avi names but by topics. I want to see what's being discussed now, not by who. Don't need fluff and ridiculous to turn it into a ranking system. The bubble appearance gives the look of an instant messaging. Discussions over a time period. Old info can still be pertinant and useful today. Forums are a resource for me.

Also noticed it showed me as online. Didn't spend enough time in there to see if i can change that.

That makes sense.

Personally, I like to add more fluff to our site it's more fun to use. I want people to enjoy their experience here so they will continue to come back and value the time they are here. But I also understand doing it in a nice way.

You probably don't like the recent posts on the index page then. I purposely made them bubbles so people would associate them with messaging. Cause after all that's what a thread is. It's a conversation between multiple people.

To respond to you of my dislikes of the new forum, does not pertain nor have any relation to this site. D.M this TIM's forum setting is very different from the complete overhaul that IMVU implemented. We should be different here. The changes you make here are subtle and not blatantly in your face, example as the bubble appearance. You take the time for users inputs. The way you have it set is not a large page area but off to the side of the shoutbox, the shoutbox to me is more of an instant message communication live chat and i know here i will get a knowledgable response. Who knows what live help one will get w new forum...any better than the Edwardo or Yvonne in normal help? IMVU has it more than half of the page including responses and such, so please don't make assumptions on my behalf. Just no comparison, hands down better here.

As for the fluff i say, "Leaderboard" is fluff. IMVU again makes it more than what it needs to be which can easily lead users abusing and spamming. Spam so i can see my name on front page? Not sure that is the kind of fluff you want attract. Yes we have a tally of posts here but it's not on opening page!

Searching for information has become complicated, both in typing into search and scrolling through the topics. Main topics scrolling appears in no order what-so-ever. The clipart is bland and takes up vital space.

Another thought...does this mean the forum moderators are gone? And instead of calling it forum it is now help, speculating the merging of the help center? Either way confusing.

Yeah, I spent a little while looking at IMVU's new community management system. The way they handle conversations (threads) is absolutely ridiculous. I'm normally all for modern systems but this one is terrible.

Their version of the forum index is a complete mess. It combines both a faq and the forum listing on the same page. I understand wanting people to help themselves and trying to prevent the same questions being asked over and over again but forcing you to scroll through the faq before you can see the forums in a terrible idea.

Threads are horrible to use as well. Having a list of threads in a tiny side bar that you have to sit there scrolling through is inconvenient. I'm also not a fan of having topics search results appear in the search box drop down menu. That kind of system is meant for small data.

Leader boards for help services rarely ever work out as intended. The best one I've seen done so far is on Stack Overflow and even they have problems with abuse.

Overall the entire system just sucks. It is not designed at all for a power use and complicates both data retrieval and casual browsing.

I don't know if they plan on migrating over tickets. They are still considering migrating the forums.
