Greetings, mafia.

I am currently using IMVU Lite, and have been for a number of months, and I have noticed the considerable decrease in lag. However, over the past few weeks I have noticed that it has become much more laggy and don't have a clue why. Would anyone be able to tell me why I've been getting so much lag? Are there any other ways (Other than IMVU Lite) to reduce lag? Any help is appreciated.

Have you defragmented your HDD recently? Scan for viruses/malware, press ctrl+alt+delete while IMVU is running to see if it or something else is consuming abnormal amounts of disk space. Also, you can prioritise the IMVU process to dedicate more system resources to it. Someone on here was discussing a programme called GameBooster recently, I believe, which sped up 3D applications. For the life of me, I cannot remember where I saw it. Oh, and press ctrl+B while in an IMVU room to toggle the amount of bubbles that appear on-screen. This greatly reduces lag. Be sure to benchmark all these with the show FPS option in settings > advanced > show frame rate, too. :3 You can systematically deduce which is most effective this way. N.B. If your PC runs on a solid-state drive, defragmentation is not as important.

Thanks so much for this advice. I knew about Ctrl+B, but the rest I was clueless about. Once again, thank you, and I'll make sure to try these methods out.

Don't use any of those programs that claim to speed up other programs. All you're doing is wasting system resources (space, ram and cpu) on another program. Those resources could in turn be used for the program you're trying to speed up (granted you may need to tweak system settings). Basically what I'm saying is learn to do whatever the program claims to do yourself otherwise it's just a waste especially on lower end systems that don't have resources to spare.

Where are you noticing lag? When moving around a room, using the shop/dress mode or just general client lag?

I was experiencing some pretty bad lag with T3DE a week ago but it was because the client had been running for a few weeks straight, a simple relog fixed it.

Perhaps trying clearing your cache as well.

Thanks, D.M, I'll do so. My lag is mainly when moving in chat rooms, but everything seems to be sailing smoothly now. I appreciate the support.

Does the size of the room effect the lag? Are you sure it's not just the room having too much stuff or too many high kb products? And are you sure it's not a result of someone wearing too much or use lag products to purposely lag the room?

On the occasions when I've noticed more lag, I've checked the room's kbs and they've been pretty normal. I thought that was the problem at first, but apparently not. Anyways, it's sorted itself out now, so I should be fine.

for your lag issue, I'd reccomend:
pressing ctrlb to reduce chat bubbles
and opening your settings
