Crash Coding

There's a new crash code going around on the client that people keep using and i was wondering if there was a way to stop it from crashing me. Like is there a certain version i can re-download that makes me immune to the code that they are using? They call it the "Ugly God Cc" and its sent into chats through the mobile IMVU app. It only crashes people who are running the IMVU client via Windows PCs, so people playing on Macs are fine. I'm also very curious as to how it works...like, it doesn't even freeze the client. It completely closes it out and brings up the IMVU crash message. Im baffled for the crash code can only be used through the mobile app, and I can't seem to put it into my computer to decipher it and reverse engineer it. If any of you have expertise in coding, please pm me, I have the code on my mobile device and will gladly send it, for educational purposes of course, I'm not abusing of it at all. I'm just trying to help those of us in the community who are victimized by trolls with things of this nature.

And I am aware that there will always be ways to crash the system no matter how many new versions of the client come out. Coding can always be exploited in some shape or form to cause a crash and no sooner than IMVU fixes one code exploit then malicious users go and find another exploit. It's no different to what happens with antivirus and spyware protection they constantly require updates are the writers of the malicious programs change their programs to get through.

Thanks again!

Hi, Usually how they crash others is by putting on a fit that is super heavy that is alot heavier than the room they are in. That is how i have ever seen it done, as far as something to keep you from crashing, I'd say just not be in that room when they come in to crash the room, if it crashes one its going to crash them all. I'm not really aware of anything that while everyone else is crashing you wont crash, usually everyone in the room will crash together.
Have a good one

This is true, but my pc is strong enough. They are using trigger crashes that close out my IMVU however. These are inevitably going to crash me, but I can't stop it.

OK so I figured it out...
You have to turn windows audio service off in task manager to avoid being crashed by the crashcode trigger. Yw anyone else facing the issue.

If you are turning the Audio off then you are not able to listen to music...So does that not mean that they still win? Either they crash you out or they make you where you cannot hear music.

Oh i see, well i never heard of their being crash codes now a days, but anything is possible i have learned lol. Yes i have a strong computer as well, its hard for them to crash me.. Now in most of the rooms i am in we use our live Dj service on web radio which we are operating ourselves which is not on imvu at all, so if they wish to listen to the music they have to click our radio link, so there is no pull on the servers or lagg us out. Which we like a whole lot better mainly because we control the music and can request music etc, unlike the imvu mix player etc..

Anyways, good luck with no crashing out.. Lately when i go into a room no matter whos room empty or full, i almost lagg out and crash it loads so slowly... i wish they would get their updating of the site/client over and done with already thts for sure.
Have a great day!

All i seen from crash coding is the *99 code and there is a new one that like Chinese. There is also products that crash you when the trigger is typed.

Good point, however, there is a workaround. Once you turn the Windows Audio off and they have used the crash code vbs, you can turn your Windows Audio back on, and their codes will no longer take effect on your IMVU. It will be ommitted, sort of like a silent treatment. Because once the IMVU client has registered the vb and that it has not reproduced any sound or action, it will simply omit it when the sound on your computer is back on, hindering it useless. Then you can enjoy your music peacefully :). ANd you have to do this for each time you restart your client or completely close it. Another word of advise is to not turn off windows audio until something on imvu has made a sound, otherwsie you wont be able to hear anything on imvu, until you close it and open it again. lol

Hope this makes sense to you all. Enjoy!

i want to make it clear to everyone. This website is a whitehat website ( meaning that here we teach people how to protect themselves agains malicious attacks ) not learn how to harm others. With that said the only fixes i can see at the moment are:

1. Talk to your friends and make all your public rooms available for friends only.
2. Use imvu lite frow our website or t3de and try to mute the person)

@LoyalRespect
if you know how to design them you should know how to protect against them better. If you do feel free to share.
