Online friends don`t miss very important things...like, when you need help or just someone to talk with..but they`re not online --..--
..and when they log back..you don`t need theyr help any more.. :?

But if the connection is tight in real life..then you still have this person in your heart :)
And..hey..why should he/she be online if you are hanging out with him/her most of the time in real life...
And friends who live on another worlds side...should better stay online..

and whats more,
online friends often let you see their inner personality, their soul, their heart, which is prob more important than how they look like.
You can meet them from the depth of them as they dare to say things which they would never, out there in reality.
And so, i myslef think that my online friends (eventho we have seen eachother and we hang in real too) know me the best, like real me, my opinions, my humor, even my honesty. they also remember more things and facts about me... they have my personality deeply analyzed.

simply said; online friends know your soul more, whereas offline friends focus on how you look like and so.
in the end i agree with all people above; friend is friend. Both kinds are same real. But in my opinion its easier to meet through online, easier to open up to them, easier to share personal information, and they keep it better as they read it, read it as many times as they want... whereas in real, you rather focus on how they look like, what they drink, what they wear, you have more living memories with them but less deep in that personal point.

Not saying my opinion is the right one, but i met my closest friends online, then we hung for a long, collected informations, facts, got to know eachother ... and then we met in a person. In this moment we already knew everything about eachother so the real contact went smooth. These ones know me best as a complex person.

It depends on so many things, like can i count on online friend like i can count on offline friends? Nah
Offline friends are there for me when i call them. of course online will try to be there for me as well... But not like the offline friends.

I really think it depends on how close you are to your offline friends.

@AndrewVu All my offline friends really don't care about how i look like.

a friend in real or a friend online is they same as if you call them friend that means you are there for each other the rest whether real or online are just aquaintences same in either place. :)

I agree,
there are some people who separate their offline lives with their online lives

Yeah, in some ways better.

Friends can be fake in real just like they can be online. So to me Online and offline can both be equally fake. Some can be great friends. I have had both. :)

I think honestly they can be, but, imo you have to have both sorts of friends in order to truly be a happy person and live a life that you'd be proud of later on. Cuz, with online friends, you can play whatever you want, do whatever you like. And thats a good thing to an extent, cuz you'll get to see them as often as you guys are on and can always have something fun and different to play. however, where it all falls short in my opinion is when you start to look into all the things you miss out on in terms of offline relationships. Actually going out and seeing things for yourself/doing them for yourself with other people is needed. In short terms, i've always been happy with my online friends and felt like what we have and will have is good to keep me occupied and always in contact. But, i think the older i have gotten, i've realized i need more relationships offline. Ones where we can actually go out and do things irl. Seeing someone, and being with the out somewhere is an entirely different experience that to me makes me full whole and just good about myself.
