Howdy

After 4 years of not being on IMVU it has downgraded so much it's crazy.
Can't even find a decent dark themed outfit because all i see in the shop are big butts, no more petite outfits. Just huge clown like asses.
Maybe i am getting old but old school imvu pre 2014 was better. And the quality was better as well.
They got rid of normal forums and added some shitty discussion.
They made IMVU Next (shit) as the main loading site so now i have to manually change into the original.

It has downgraded so much it's not even funny. I don't even know if buying VIP and creating is even worth the bother.

I will be a devils advocate and try to find some good in it. Hopefully i find at least something or find something to benefit the family.
But so far it will be hard to get back into it.

well welcome to the party your not wrong in anything u said.imvu has gone off the rails. now u see shitty products because either the good devs went to second life and disabled their accounts or imvu disabled the accounts for them for one shitty reason or another.

Oh wait dont get me started on next u haven't seen the worst of it yet. 2 of the biggest issues with next are:

1. if u are set to do not disturb mode (invisible) in client every time u go to ur homepage it pops u on available for a few seconds ( letting everyone on ur list know ur online )

2. and probably the biggest problem is that next has a thing kinda like twitter where people follow you. and once u follow someone u cant undo it making it the perfect weapon for stalkers :)

Rid followers by blocking them

I usually take long breaks from imvu, but what I saw is that... did it downgrade or was the people's tastes that got weird?
With the common body shapes now (RL, RLL, RLS) it's usual to see people wearing the largest things ever with like, big reducers for hands, head and feet, which makes the products clip like crazy and everything looks just like an horror show, not even something more comic-like or caricatures.

When I make pants I tend to sell them in different sizes, and guess what actually gets the selling? Yep, the biggest butts you can make.

IMVU next is just... argh! And no matter how much you set things to show you offline, yeah, I still get invites once I visit the site.

I do have a SL account but I'm not sure if it's worth the moving. It have its own problems as well.

I laughed at it all now a days..You're right about the Catty and what some would be calling themselves creators. They just slap a color texture in the color window and call it done then they don't use the blending or the two sided buttons making their stuff look like crap. What erks me is that i put alot of work into my products I use Gimp. Can't afford Photoshop...lol but anyways I know my stuff is quality as I will not put it out there unless it is then I take the time to make my product icons to make them presentable appealing. Then I look in shop and you got all these crappy just take a pic post its and weird colors or well lets face it basically crap and they put it there to sell. But I know this is true with me as well as other Good Creators our stuff we put in catty as new gets buried by this crap so people don't get a chance to see our stuff unless they know of us already. Normally when I go into shop to look at new Items I click on all and then look at only the first 5 pages so if a good quality person is there deeper in the pages I am not gonna see their work. And people in peer are passing this stuff so they are to blame as well.

Now on the sizes OMG don't get me started on the big butts and the Drum stick looking thigh and legs or the big boobs. To damn funny. Being a model on IMVU I have seen even the models being skinny up top no bust or huge bust and this skinny waist and then these huge thunderous hips and thighs then back to skinny calves and small feet. What happened to being proportionate in what you look like. Or on the opposite side of the realm I see these models that have the giga avatars with no shape or these long ass legs and then this short body and then a huge head. Another thing is either a huge body with these tiny tiny hands you can barely see almost like stumps. I entered a contest and some stupid judge told me I needed to scale my hands down from where they were which they were proportionate to my frame size I was using a dainty hand scaler as it was. and that I had to use a shoulder scaler because my shoulders were showing (she wanted my shoulders to be tight against my neck so it looked like my neck went right into my chest. Then my head was to small when again my body was proportionate in all aspects on what I designed my body to look like. My words to her was look you are here to judge me on my choices for my body looks not on what you feel that I should look like you are here to judge me on the outfit or whatever the challenge should be. Anyways I lost the challenge because she scored me so low and yet the one woman that had the huge head tiny unseeable hands and the huge boobs and tiny waste and turkey drumstick thighs and legs to the tiny feet won. I understand Plus size models but this was far from a BBW it was a spectical to laugh at. Not in a comical way either but one of embarassment for her.

So yeah the styles have changed and become stupid as well as what is put into shop has become so low quality and idiotic. I wish there was a way to block things or people you don't want to see in shop so that you can actually see the good items. And the thing is the guys love the women to look like they do with their huge butts and breasts and turkey leg hips and thighs totally disgusting in my eyes.

THIIIISSS. i started creating not long ago, and seeing how much you have to spend on each creation, it's really odd to me how people do a 0 effort on creating things, or even showing things! It's not complicated to make something presentable, a simple effect can go a long way already, but still, it's a mix of nothing with nada and some null spices.

And the sizes, YEP, I have no idea what's going on!!! Sometimes I like some more caricature looking specific avis, but when you cannot see hands and feet (and the way they clip to wrist/ankles for being too small is HORRID) or all you can see is balls (2 on chest, 2 on butt) things got a bit out of hand.

I also noticed the male preference for the weird body shape, not to say that they usually have either the tinniest heads (HEY! Image), the biggest heads or stick legs. Wot.

Some of my first items weren't the best and definitely needed work but I was proud of myself for the effort I put in. I assume some of the really bad items are probably kids who are just learning. I wouldn't buy it but I won't judge either. I've also noticed some creators have old items that look really cheap and then newer ones that obviously show improvement. Once these kids learn, I hope that they go back and edit their older stuff. I'm guessing a lot probably get discouraged because the items are so bad and don't sell. I think vu should refund a portion and remove items that don't sell after 90 days. Less clutter would be great.

The problem with updating your old products is if people have bought them they might complain if it changes. Some people like products that you or I may think are of low quality.

I tend to not make a product public till I am happy with the quality. Granted that's not a very good idea if you want fast sales.

i was referring to the items that don't sell. There's seller reports that are simple enough to check. If it sold, leave it alone. If it didn't, fix it. I bought an avatar once that i really liked but the creator changed it to crap. It ended up distorted doing some kind of dance. Completely different from what I wanted.
