Hello. Google has recently announced that Chrome won't be supporting flash after december 2020. I create poses rn on deliverance stickers, and since this will kill the whole thing, I don't want to be creating poses on IE. Understandable, right?

Months ago, I stumbled upon an IMVU tutorial on how to create poses, and I guess they recommended Blender or 3DSMAX. I'm wondering if anyone around the forums create poses on any specific software can give me a suggestion on what software will be best (or by preference tbh) to create animations and stand still poses? And if by luck, any tutorial on the forums or the net to help me on that? Thanks.

Well I mean you can still use FireFox and stand alone flash players but yeah, I can understand why you'd want to switch. I'm not sure what alternatives there are other than 3DS Max and maybe Blender. I don't know what all IMVU supports.

Maybe
@Adryan
or
@Don Von Alpha Dom
would have more information on the subject. Pretty sure Don has a few animation makers on the payroll.

Yeah, I know I can stick to flash, and like I said, even use IE for this. But I'm sure that a software will help me and have features to make my life easier than this imvu sticker (which I respect and had done amazing things with it).

I'll try downloading it and see what happens, then. Thanks. :)

yeah 3dsmax is good for this. even have the curve editor to make hq animations. aslong as u are willing to learn how to use the programe itself. (may take sometime to get use to the tools). imvu riggs for poses and animations are nicely set up for importing in to 3dsmax. i hear blender can make poses now, but honestly i don't know how well that works. its worth a try looking into though, after all blender is free to use.

I have got the software up and running, and after some trouble, found some skeletons on the new help IMVU website. That layout sucks. But maybe that's just me being an old user.
Didn't mess much with it, but seems way more complicated. Also, having a "back" option to redo something is really appreciated. lol
I'm having trouble with the 3DSMAX, but I'm sure it will make things better in the long run.

mmhm. i really suggest learning the interface of 3dsmax before anything. its not really beginner friendly. 3dsmax mainly used by many professional game dev's, its safe to say its a industry type of software. with that being said yes it will be complex for most that are beginners using 3dsmax. i have used the flash pose editor on imvu in the past it is simple, so if u are coming from that world into 3dsmax i can understand the crazy ness. though one thing i can promise about 3dsmax if u can get the hang of it u will be very great-full of the results in the end. -good luck

Yeah, I still am using the flash homepage sticker to do them until I learn to do something in 3DSMAX. Can I open my xafs created with the sticker on 3DSMAX?

also 3dsmax rigs let u actually see the skin on the avatar, while u are making the the poses. also try the joystick keys for moving the skeleton bones (this helps good with moving specific fingers of the avatar). practice using the gizmo menu (rotation gizmo) will be the one u will use the most for poses or animations.
