The way I see it, when the windows client finally gets overhauled with the "Next in a box" update ... it will clear the field of client hacking, because everyone will have to start over with a brand new client to reverse engineer. It will certainly make for exciting times. I'm sort of looking forward to kicking the new client's ass.

What do you think of this shadows shown, mainly in that gif with the girl with wings? Are those real time rendered shadows?

well lot of friend complain about this new client that are literaly imvu next website transposer to desktop app and they hate imvu next. there is lot of functionality missing with mobile / imvu next and apparently some feature will be removed like sound they will loose all ppl that like to mix sound. they did the new clien not to please the community just to have all platform on the same way of development to be able to easy make update on all at same time. it not a winning play for imvu , they take huge risk with this new client. they released beta, if someone have catalina mac update and can give us some more information.

Yeah, I agree. Although I embrace and welcome changes in the client (I'm kind of bored of it's design for quite some time), next and the mobile lack many features that the client has today. And going back to how it was before, with a separate client to craete is... nostalgic, actually. If they port the client features to the new version, I welcome it. If not, let's complain a lot. lol

If you look at the pictures of the new create mode, each material will now come with its own lighting and shadows settings, different from the current create mode. The way it is rendering shadows though ... I'm almost wondering if IMVU inc extended their CAL3D library to include Piavca or HALCA. HALCA extends CAL3D and has real time shadow buffers, dynamically changing shaders, and is geared towards VR headsets ... a part of the video game market IMVU inc has been striving towards for years. At the very least, I think they took the concept from HALCA. I'll know better once I get my hands on the code. This would be a huge shift in shadow rendering on IMVU ... totally screwing over older rooms, but at the same time opening up a whole new world of potential and a new layer to developing on IMVU ... possibly breathing life back into IMVU's outdated graphics. Personally, I'm crossing my fingers with hope that IMVU inc finally takes advantage of CAL3D's material physics for more life like fabric.

IMVU is kinda dying, its no where near as much fun as it use to be a few years ago, everybody i know has either left or been banned or is hardly ever online. plus the TOS basically makes having AP pointless, we pay to be able to do adult things, but they still treat like children. not sure why people say its over priced, the only thing i've paid for is AP and i brought VIP once to remove the guest thingy from my name. but yeah, it is slowly dying i think

We need to start getting together on IMVU and make things happen again. Sounds like a good reason to finish our events system.

We retreated our beach head and ended our gatherings from IMVU back in early 2012, after IMVU inc announced it was against their TOS to be a member of our site ... and attempted to purge our members.

However, over the past few months we have been working on a new project to restore our presence within the IMVU chat community. We have dubbed this project, "The Events System", and expect it to herald in a new golden age of mafia gatherings ... restoring our family's infamy and fame with the average user.
