How do you get the lowest possible kbs on imvu n no lag?

When creating a mesh i strive for as few vertices and polygons without compromising the overall rendering of the object. Then i derive from an empty product which starts at 0kbs.

When it comes to derives i look for the original derive in the chain to work from. I then use the smallest texture size in jpg format, again paying attention to the end result for best quality. Not all materials have to be 256x256 or as large as 512x512. You can get away with 32x32 if the material is covering a minor detail. I will as even go as 2x2 when blocking.

However with skins you do want to go with png format and larger size for the detailing.

Another tip would be to reuse the xrf if the same material is repeated in several slots rather than adding another same material.

When it comes to shopping and you have concerns over the accumulated kbs, shop wisely. Look down the derive chain. You will find items with zero derive change, why not examine the chain and cut out that extra load. You'll probably find a cheaper buy, for the same exact item. Also, outfits don't need to carry all the vbs, music, dances, pets. Add when needed. Those items tend to be the heavy kb culprits.

There is continued debate on kbs and seems the general concensus is that it no longer of concern since computers have moved forward to handle the higher loads without lag.

As
@Xhynrae
mentioned above, that is one way to have really low kbs and less lag. However that only applies if you are a creator. The other way to do this if you are not a creator and also if you are a creator but do not want to go through all of that creating just for low kbs, follow these steps:

* enter a room and wait for it to load 100% and is not lagging
* now that you are settled with no lag, scroll to the top right side of the client and click on the settings button
* Then when you click on the settings button, move the cursor down to advanced and click on advanced
* when that step is completed, click on the room that you entered and wait like 5 minutes or around there

thats it. when you click your kbs again, it would be 324 kbs until you close the settings tab or leave the room

Give it a try. it works!

One of the best ways I know is to check product kb in the info about a specific product you may have on.
Actions tend to have a lot of kb, so try taking off some of those for good results.
Another point, rooms also contain kb, so some may give you more of a "lag" than others taking into account your personal kb and that of the other users in the same room.

Well I usually get my kb's to 0 by turning on the settings. I click settings and my kb's immediately go down and to reduce lag I get rid of chat bubbles by pretting ctrlb. it definitely helps you should check it out. Imvu lag is freaking ridiculous!

@instainc

I look for meshes with a low number of faces / low number of vertex when converted to XMF. If I can, I remove any unnecessary sub meshes .... such a light fixtures, plants, and picture frames ... stuff people don't notice when they go missing.
