There used to be some good rooms but since IMVU got strict an started removing them now there aren't that many, but if you are a mobile player or comfortable using mobile imvu 
then there are plenty of good rooms in there that can be found easily just search in chat rooms "jujum" or "gatoloko" and boom you'll get some nice mobile compatible rooms haha and you'll find many users in those rooms too so yeah it works that way but for Pc I don't know as of now
