Around 7 months ago my account got banned for a room I kept changing and resubmitting, and as always IMVU staff were unhelpful and gave the same answer when I filed claims on my backup stating that I did edit the room. I spent a lot on that account since I've had it since 2013, but the problem is I was underage and didn't have a bank account for a while so most of it was bought with prepaid visa cards that I later threw away. (I also don't have the right age on my account and they never let me fix it.) Is it still possible to take IMVU to court and sue to reclaim my account?

are you still underage ? You should sit down & carefully read imvu TOS to see if everything was in compliance. I don't know how much you spent on that account but a lawyer may cost you a lot more for a single consultation which probably wont even result into anything.

they will always fall back on the TOS.. you must have all your ducks in a row and have a really good lawyer because they will pull out all the stops on a lawsuit. Now what RXA mentioned about it may be cheaper to just let it go may be the best option. I know i have been on imvu since 2011 or so.. its been almost 10 yrs or more.. i have spent thousands of dollars on my account well just one account and i have like 4 or 5. Anyways it still probably wouldn't cover what a lawsuit would cost. Remember they get thousands of dollars daily from other users of the site.. they can hold out forever prolong the case as long as they wish because they will never run out of cash. You on the other hand, are just one person with an account that while u spent tons of money on etc.. still haven't gotten the kind of money it would take for yrs of litigation over just one account. Not trying to diminish how much you have or haven't spent on your account bc believe me we ALL do lol, but they just have alot more money for great attorney's, and time on their side not to mention with their TOS it would be better to just let them have that account and start over unfortunately...Good luck..

From what I've seen, IMVU inc normally only holds out and stalls for time on a large class action lawsuits. If you go in alone and go in small ... they settle out of court by giving you the account back pretty fast, so they don't have to spend any money fighting you off. Otherwise, stalling on hundreds of individual tiny lawsuits would drain their resources.

Oh my... I would have thought that they would show their behinds even with small and personable suits. I know they took a friend of mines account and wouldn't even discuss returning it and i know she spent thousands on that account in the 5 yrs she was on it.. But she said that old saying "Two Tears in a Bucket, Mo Fo it" lol i would be having a nervous break down if they took mine. i would commit harry carry i think lmao.. anyways... thank you for that info Don... I would have thought the opposite knowing its imvu...lol

I live in Tucson, AZ, in the US. I am nearly 20 at this point, and "had parental permission" like they required back in the day for minors even though I put a false birth year. I think it's 4 years off? I honestly don't know where to start for small claims though.

Lovely, which county?

If we can figure out who your county clerk is, they should be able to help you with getting something filed. Your county clerk normally has a website where they help locals with filing legal issues.

Now, your local clerk might tell you that you can't sue across state lines. You can typically get around this by pointing out that IMVU inc is a large national corporation that sells retail items in your state. The business does regular business in your state by selling products or services. You can show that local retail sells IMVU prepaid gift cards: https://www.imvu.com/prepaidcard/index. ... ted-states

If you want additional cheap legal advice, legal shield is a great option: https://www.legalshield.com/lawyer-dire ... 0us%20most.

Would I want Juvenile or Superior Court? Also I would just like to note that I did file a case through IMVU once or twice to make my age accurate and never got a response. I don't know if the age being off would make it more difficult to file or anything.

IMVU team really crazy, paid money for age verification and AP but they didn't accept my Payment. After talking with support team provide them licence and AGE proof and credit card scan copy but they didn't accept payment and approved age verification and AP. Seems IMVU support team just reply auto answer they asked for documents in every email and Finally after 1 week stopped replying them.
