You can purchase the xsf decompiler here: buysell/product.php?product_id=1026

All you do is drag and drop your xsf file onto the xsf decompiler exe file.

A new decompiled version of the xsf file will appear in the same folder as the original xsf file.

You can open the decompiled xsf inside of any basic text editor, examples : Notepad, Notepad++, Edit Pad

I also need to know is it safe to edit a product xsf with or it will be taken down as a dmca copyright to the .xsf file ??

Just make sure you derive off of the original product. As long as you derive off of the product you ripped from, people assume you simply inherited the xsf file from the parent product or reverse engineered it. This method does not work with other asset types, just xrf and xsf because those are relatively easy and acceptable to reverse engineer.

If you try to do the same thing with xmf, xaf, xpf, or any sort of texture image file ... then yes, you risk a dmca takedown.

Why would you want to remove the watermark from someone else's work?

I purchased an exclusive xmf for me before and asked the creator to put a shape as a watermark & he did ... But I find that this shape is not helpful anyone can claim that it belongs to him and this creator is no longer online so I would like to change this shape with a name instead

How can I remove it from the file?

Is there a word to find in the xmf file ?

Look at the list of materials in create mode, under the mesh tab. Each material is listed with an ID. Look for the material that matches the texture of the watermark. Copy down the ID. Then look for the submesh inside of the XMF file; the submesh will have a material attribute equal to that ID. Delete the submesh.

I use notepad++ for editing xml mesh files (xmf): https://notepad-plus-plus.org/downloads/

If you open the xmf in notepad++ and you see compiled bits instead of raw XML, then you need to run the xmf file through the XMF decompiler: buysell/product.php?product_id=1020
