Animated Icons for Shop

Hi thee
How does one make basic Icons for Shop ? without using Photoshop or gimp or anything just a basic animated icon on a product ? I herd that animated icons sells better ?

I personally use Photoshop because making the animation is easier, but you can use pretty much any image editing program. As for doing it without an image editing program, I don't think that's possible. You have to have something that can stitch the frames together. You could use an online tool to do it for you but it's better to do it yourself. You'll get much finer control over the final result.

I use GIMP to animate caty icons. I have a pre-saved template making it quick and easy. I do prefer static icons over animated. But with such a small space, it is hard to capture the features of a product. So for those, I will animate to catch a potential shopper's attention. What I would like to mention, is pay attention to the speed of the frames. There are some that flash so fast that it make my eyes bug out.

Maybe Paint.net with gif plugin? I've used it before to make or edit gifs which is really easy to, not sure if it would work I haven't created anything on IMVU before
