You will find various rooms to fit whatever it is you are looking for. Alot seem to be pushing the DJ rooms here ..yeah sure they have music and the ligh shows but then most of the time the room is filled with "family" and well you as a newb in the room will kinda be shunned from the convo even if you interject yourself. Then you have to deal with the VBs that people have on and do during the music. Then because of it being a DJ room alot of people are wearing their Music and their effects etc for their show or just because causing very high kbs, now when you have the room kbs higher then 5k and then you have people that are above 3k and that's pushing it you will crash or the room crashes or you have large problems with lagging and/or the music cutting out.

The best places to head for when you wish for conversation is rooms that are maybe filled with 3/4 people this is yes a slow paced room but then at least you will know that there is conversation, unless people are parking and you can figure that out when you enter. Me personally I run Ballrooms as well as Piano bars and they tend to fill up very fast. And the conversation is always moving in the rooms. Besides I hate a dead convo room so if no one talks then think of a topic that everyone knows something about. Dead end Convos, Meaning convos that are well shunned upon or have negative affects you try to avoid talking about in a room is ...Politics, religion, perversion, Unless those rooms are specifically geared for those type of convos. Another type of convo that clear a room real fast is the Woo is me ones...No one cares what you have been through because well someone else in the room is possibly going through it as well or gone through it. It brings a rooms down. No Baby Momma Drama..If on Imvu your Lover or Spouse has left you yeah you can say you were dumped but don't go on and on about it.

People come to IMVU to "TRY" and forget what bothers them in the real world for just a little while. Now it seems everywhere you go on IMVU some symbiance of drama or real life gets in..or peoples attitudes or the harassers or bullies come out and ruin it all. All these things will clear a room real fast so try to avoid it and them. For convo stick to a room between 2-6 people and if you like all the noise and can manage to hang on in a high KB room then try the DJ rooms..Fist and foremost though when entering a room read the rooms placement card and see what the description of the room is and what the dress code is this will save you alot of time before you enter on wether you need to be in there or wish to be in there or you are not welcomed in there.

But word of advice Do not just limit yourself to one room to go to all the time...visit various rooms and see if it is the type of place that you would like to go to now and then. Because sometimes when you stop at the first room you come to to plant your feet there may be a better one out there.

Search DesGarcon, all of his rooms are usually active all day & everyone to seems chill. He has about 3-4 rooms I believe & peple arent always afk.

I don't see anything that good by far every single room I join everybody is mute and isn't doing anything beside leaving ther characters aside most probably while being in other rooms with friends for example, in other cases you just meet people that holds you aside as they talk. I was mostly looking in small room cause in those i had way more luck to find cool people since mostly in the big ones are only bunches of friends ignoring

tbh I like to go in places where at least I can do minimum rp such as restaurants or bars. It creates a certain interactions with ppl.Also, you can enjoy a good laugh

IMVU has definitely gotten more quiet over the years. I think the lively crew of IMVU users are on mobile/in the live rooms that I plan on avoiding like the plague.

Many users are now using a live room if they are V.I.P. Because you get One or 2 for free being VIP. Live rooms create revenue for regular imvu users that love IMVU but don't create. The best rooms cost Vcoin to enter. The rooms are fun and can hold tons more ppl than a regular room, and room owners can now use voice to talk to ppl.

That being said, long time imvu users tend to stick to being in private these days, unless they have a featured room, to avoid noobs. Clubs/bars/bdsm markets/furry/and Photo rooms are still pretty lively without hosting/vcoin. Although I am seeing alot of clubs go vcoin lately.
