Why am I not surprised? I had a hunch it was profit-related, not just lazyness of ineptitude but it's nice to know the deets. Never really thought about the classic client being limited to 32bit. Also one of many reasons I have zero interest in Windows 11; just the sheer annoyance and headaches it may or may not introduce to older software, retro games, etc.

Still, for a more modern 64bit program to look as much of a hot mess as it does even on PC is.. surprising. I'm almost certain the classic client is RAM-locked and hardware capped (I know a lot of older programs and games are limited to 4GB), but considering modern phones can have that much and more and it still looks and runs like crap on PC? ..how do you mess it up that bad? I'm sure there's stuff I'm not seeing and like you say, if they're cuttings corners to cut costs and just want the cheapest product..
