I read something about that, so I wanted to be sure:

1.My friend wants me to download IMVU and I'm not totally sure if I should or not. I just want to check and see if it's safe. So, has anyone here downloaded IMVU and gotten a virus, spyware, trojan, etc. on their computer? Or is it safe?

2.I have had it for a few months now and my computer is running slower than it usted to. The imvu needs ALLOT of memory and it, the 3D windows, often crash on me. I have had this problem for a few weeks now and I have not heard any help from the imvu staff/ the forums there have others who are having problems ever since they introduced furniture a month ago... It is cool when it runs but it still has Bugs that need to be worked on.If you have good virus protection and anti spyware like the panda then go for it. but be prepared for a verrrrryyyy sssslllllllooooooowwwww connnnneeeeccctttiiiooonnn.

3.yes it does give ur computer a virus.its triggered by a trojan in the download,,although i've heard that it just triggers it and it dosent actually carry the virus.but either way, i suggest u try to uninstall it b/c it only took my computer a few weeks to completelly crash!
i had to get a brand new computer and ditch that one b/c it ran so slow and eventually it wouldnt even let me get to the windows. As much as I like imvu,,im not risking my *** for it this time.

4.I have McAfee, and right after I clicked the download button, it noticed a mole. Not safe, *runs spyware search*.

What do you think about that?Do you agree with this people and what they are saying?

Its all bullcrap.

1. No, IMVU isn't a virus, and not a trigger...if its even possible. Though as I've heard, the IMVU log in page HAD a trojan virus sometime back, it is not a virus of any kind.

2. It might be caused by other programs he/she has installed, it is true that IMVU needs a lot of RAM, because it is downloading all the clothes and rooms and it is saved in the RAM (Random Accese Memory)
Which causes the lag and freezing and crashing, if you're going low on the RAM, it sure it would lag.

3. Random bullcrap.

4. McAfee, lmao, way-to-go on choosing a anti virus program, McAfee is the worst anti virus program, so its sure to make false virus "capturing"

It is all explainable, if your comp lags cuz IMVU is running, it doesn't mean its a virus. So just get some more RAM and see how smoothly it will go.

That's all...

-.- ' I didn't expect to read something like this from a member like Roxxanne.
anyway my friend there are million of people using imvu ... and there is no way that it's a virus .*otherwise* no one will use it .
I used imvu for over two years and I never faced any problems like viruses or trojans or spywares etc ...... also I have used many anti-viruses like bit-defendedr , kasper-sky , zone alarm , nod etc ....
and non of them caught imvu as a virus . so its ur pc I think it needs more protection and features .

1. IMVU does not carry any viruses; I have been hacking IMVU for so long...I would have noticed something like that by now.

2. That is because you are forgetting to clear IMVU's cache every week and I bet you are not closing IMVU properly; IMVU is not causing your computer to run slow....computer ignorance is.

3. You got a band new computer just because you could not reach windows due to malware problems? Are you an idiot? Do you not know how to boot from the OS disk reformat your computer? Do you always buy a new computer every time something goes wrong with the software?

4. McAfee sucks ass. McAfee is almost as bad as Nortan, maybe worse.

Sorry Roxxanne, IMVU is not a virus; it is just a high maintenance program.
