what web browsers do you use?

I use Firefox customized for security on my main system, all my VMs both Windows and Linux, laptop and my phone. I manage my own security levels myself when the need arises. I sometimes use Chrome when working on our site to make sure everything works but that's about the only time I ever open it.

For me, this is because Chrome is controlled by Google whom I do not trust and I'm trying to break away from their ecosystem. Also, it's designed for the average user so a lot of it's design choices don't appeal to me. I also disagree on a philosophical level with having one browser engine control the market like how IE used to.

Unfortunately Firefox has been trying to copy Chrome in the last few versions but it still offers me more freedom than Chrome.

firefox gave me less problems than chrome so in my opinion it has been better

theres such thing as too much security for them? that almost makes me laugh but i get the need for an accurate identification

exactly im doin' the same and use google as least as possible bc their reach is so long and data hungry. it was also a short time after only using ie that i found out about firefox and other browsers and never looked back. microsoft edge gets payed dust by me too :lol:

@sadecatgirl

when it comes to safari i dont hear anythin' about it which i think is good

My main is Opera, both for pc and android phone. It syncs those devices nicely and has that flow function that's handy when I want to read e.g. an article on the phone, on bed, not sitting at the desk etc.

I use Chrome on pc for imvu stuff, it's ok.

I used Firefox for ages then it was too heavy for my old pc so I quit. But I'm sure it's still one of the best browsers on pc. If I had more time I'd test Firefox both on pc and my android phone. Surely sync option is a common thing on most browsers these days ? I hope.

I use Brave and Firefox too, but after many years Brave took the place of Firefox as the default web browser because of some problems encountered with Firefox.

It's been a few months Firefox on Windows has become super slow. I've tried disabling add-ons, resetting the browser (even deleting the user profile folder), but it loads pages with disarming slowness.

I use it more frequently on linux, even then though I have experienced frequent browser crashes for quite some time.

I think I found in Brave a decent compromise between stability and privacy.

its actually great to hear that a system of programs or apps from one brand work well so you dont have to go lookin' somewhere else. what else is in the complete set?

i thought so too until i tried to log in to imvu and couldnt. if its bc of a setting that stops them from trackin' me or somethin' then ill continue to find other workarounds. also since you mentioned linux, is it your preferred os?
