How to check if Imvu Lite is installed properly ?

I think I've read somewhere in the forums that I should see "imvu lite" logo instead of standard imvu logo when IMVULite is loading. I never quite pay attention to that really. If I can't see the "imvu lite" = does it mean it's improperly installed or Windows 11 removed something ?

My Windows Defender and Firewall are switched on. But I have them set up the way they ask me before doing anything, admin rights etc. Nothing they'd do behind my back - it seems.

I'm used to having more control over my older Windows versions over years. But with Win 10 and Win 11 sometimes I'm not sure how much control Microsoft have over their products these days. And I'm not going back to Linux, life is too short.

I used to have the Iobit Advance System Care installed but after I noticed my Skyrim modding tools started behaving weird and I did some reading about its aggressive behaviour - I got rid of it. So I don't think it would cause any file removal in my case.

With previous versions of IMVULite during install I used to just run DeleteIMVU, install IMVULite and go about my imvu day. But after uninstalling Iobit bundle [and their uninstaller] I got a new uninstaller software - BCUninstaller and it showed me a lot of trash left after past uninstalls, including old versions of IMVULite. So I got quite concerned if things are going as they should.

Don't mean to sound too paranoid, but lately I wanted to try Sandboxie and test things on my second imvu test-account and just didn't want to risk losing my main account, that's all. One of my fav sentences are "Check and double check" and what my grandma said: "If you can count - count on yourself first" :) PC life seemed more simple in Win7 days !

IMVULite does not have a custom logo, theme or any other identifiable graphics. It's purposely made to look as vanilla as possible as a security feature. If you're running IMVU from the location you installed IMVULite to, you can be assured you're using IMVULite. If for any reason you need confirmation, you can simply check to see if any of the advertised features are working.

You certainly have less control than you use to but if you're willing to put in more effort than the average user, there are ways to regain that control.

This is normal, I occasionally have to remove uninstall entries in Add & Remove programs for old versions of our clients. Most programs these days leave files and registry entries behind after uninstalling. Most of the time they are harmless and can be ignored unless you're like me and want to keep your system as clean as possibly.

By all means, please do so. While I will vouch for our clients, I respect and commend your skepticism. I would do the same thing, especially when it comes to modified IMVU clients.

Thank you for your time and long answer.

I'm not sceptic about Lite - I've used it for years now and had no problems with it. What concerns me is what I keep observing and noticing about imvu when I go online what I think wasn't there months, years ago. I grow more and more in doubt of how safe one can be on imvu these days. The place has really changed since I found it 8 years ago. And I've also read tons all over the www about how bad, evil, incompetent imvustaff can be. Even people who come there just for fun can't be safe because predators are "under protection" of imvustaff because of their carelesness that obviously comes from greed. It's clearly money over customer satisfaction, not the other way round.

I've never felt really safe out there on imvu that's why I'm here. If imvustaff can't help when something bad happens - I'm either on my own or I can only turn to imvumafias. That's how I see it.

I'm used to being an independent/outsider person and trying to solve problems by myself. But looks like times are a'changing also online and it keeps getting harder to travel/fight on your own. Thanks again.

I've already tried it, works perfectly fine. A great tool.

However 1 day after posting this topic here and not logging in on vu for a whole day I discovered my vu_account got perma-banned "for spamming". Email read they have "hard evidence".

I did some reading all over web and found similar case, where someone didn't even use their account for about 24hrs - then came back tried to log in and discovered the same ban.

Shit happens.

Hmm, never heard of them banning for that reason before. What did you do on the account? From my understanding IMVU tends to ban in waves more than on a case by case basis. If this is true then it would not matter when the ban happens, but rather when the offense occurred.
